Aside from events that showcase a variety of Islamic activities, a number of competitions, among them with a basis in science, will also be held in International Islamic Fair (IIF).
These competitions are unique and unprecedented; never before has a scientific competition been held in a large-scale event rooted in Islamic values.
The Chairman of IIF, Magda Safrina, has expressed that these competitions are part of the IIF organizers’ commitment in contributing to the young Indonesian Islamic generation, in particular in making them stand out from a knowledge and scientific standpoint.
For this purpose, she continued, IIF has joined in partnership with the Cybersecurity Center of the Bandung Institute of Technology (CSC-Institut Teknologi Bandung /CSC-ITB). Present in the meeting between the two parties were Magda Safrina and Teddi Bachtiar, the IIF Coordinator of Books and Education, on the IIF side and Yusep Rosmansyah, Executive Director of CSC-ITB, as a representative of ITB. The two parties agreed to join in partnership for a total of three science-based competitions.
“These competitions are the Muslim Science Olympic, the Robotic Competition, and the Kid Cyber Competition,” Magda explained.
Also involved in the project as a manager of technical matters is the Salman ITB Mosque Development Foundation (Yayasan Pengembangan Masjid/YPM), which will be working in conjunction with the IIF committee.
The organizers of IIF has expressed their hopes that the three aforementioned competitions will make the event, which will be held on October 20-23 2016 at JiExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, an attractive and memorable one.
